Description
Alberta Kinsey (1875-1952) French Quarter Scene Oil On Canvas Painting. Nice oil on canvas painting of a New Orleans, Louisiana French quarter courtyard scene. Alberta was born in West Milton, Ohio and trained in New Orleans, France and Italy. At one time, she taught at Wilmington College, later becoming a New Orleans French quarter artist. Her work is widely collected and on display at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Signed lower left, "Alberta Kinsey." Painting measures 15" X 17". 1920’s/1930’s frame measures 18 1/2" X 20 1/2". Provenance: Lynne Fairchild Spragins Dodson estate, Jackson, Tennessee. Condition- This painting is in overall good condition with some minor paint loss and craquelure. Frame needs some touchup. See photos.
