Description
2 Hardcover Volumes (XVI and XLVIII) Historia Ecclesiastica (Ecclesiastical History) by Claudii Fleurii Abbatis (Claude Fleury) published in Latin by Josephi Wolff Augsburg, Germany and Innsbruck, Austria c. 1762 in full leather bindings with gilt lettering on spine. Both volumes have marbled end papers and blue marbled edges. Tome XVI covers the period from 1100 AD to 1143 AD. Tome XLVIII covers the period from 1566 AD to 1572 AD. Both title pages feature engraved illustrations. Tome XVI has 934 pages plus index and measures 6 7/8" x 4 1/2" x 2 1/16". Tome XLVII has 702 pages and measures 6 13/16" x 4 7/8" x 1 7/8".
Condition: Condition – Tome XVI and XLVIII – Very Good – Binding tight. Full leather cover has soiling and wear to front and back. Spine shows wear. Loss to head and tail. Gilt tooling on spine faded but visible. Top block edge soiled. Two former owner ex-libris inside front cover and ink stamps on first couple and last page. Foxing throughout. Internally very good condition. Please see photos.
