Presented as a series of letters, the book explores various aspects of American (United States) society, politics, economy, and infrastructure in the mid-19th century. 439 pages in French. Measures 8 5/16" x 5 1/4" x 1"; and Europa y America en 1821 (Europe and America in 1821) by Monsenor de Pradt printed in Paris by La Imprenta de Bobee c. 1822 Second Part. Translated into Spanish from French. Full calf leather binding with gold tooling on spine with marbled end papers. Book examines the political and social landscape of Europe and America in 1821, with a specific focus on the burgeoning independence movements in South America. 371 pages in Spanish. Measures 8 1/16" x 5 1/4" x 1 1/4".

Map at back of book torn and half missing; Europa y America en 1821 – Condition – Fair – wear and loss to leather bottom and edges of cover. Joint spilt but intact. Spine damage, tears and repairs.
