Description
A Fine Louis XVI Style Ebonized Cylinder Desk with Jasperware Plaques and Gold Leaf Decoration. Provenance: Waverly Mansion Circa 1852, West Point, Mississippi Collection, Charlie and Dana Stephenson. Top of desk has a single piece of white alabaster with a gilt bronze reticulated gallery, and a fitted desk area with pigeon holes and four drawers. Pull out writing area with tooled leather. Measures 47" high X 41 1/2" wide X 23" deep. Condition- Desk is in overall very good condition. Plaques are damage free. Some wear to gold leaf and some possible touch up with gold paint. Tooled leather has considerable wear, discoloration, and cracking. See photos.
