Early 19th C. Mahogany Tall Case Clock with Handpainted Dial. Nice clock with flame mahogany door, string inlay, and dental molded crown. The handpainted face has a Scottish couple surrounded by farm animals, their house in the background, while the lady with plume hat holds songbook and the gentleman plays a flute. The dial is surrounded by painting of four ladies depicting summer, winter, and autumn. Provenance: Lynne Fairchild Spragins Dodson estate, Jackson, Tennessee. Measures 80 3/8" high X 20 3/4" wide X 9" deep. Condition- The condition of the works is unknown. Clock comes with key, two weights, and pendulum. Weight cables appear to be a recent replacement. This clock would most likely run with the help of a qualified horologist. Base of case has some losses, mostly to veneer at feet. One side grill is missing a piece approx. 2 1/2" long. Crown mold has some wear. See photos.
