Description
Two-Part Empire Mahogany Secretary Bookcase Circa 1830. Base has two one-shelf compartments with four doors and two drawers below fold down writing area with felt cover. Upper section has two doors with two glass panes each. Glass is original. Bookcase has five shelves. Shelves have plate rack moldings. Easily removable for books. Provenance: Waverly Mansion Circa 1852, West Point, Mississippi Collection, Charlie and Dana Stephenson. Measures 108 1/4" high X 62" wide X 31 3/8" deep with writing area folded down X 21" deep with writing area closed. Upper section is 72" high. Condition- Overall good condition, missing some veneer chips and old veneer repair. Interior desk area inkwell area is missing partition and bottom. Upper potion has some wood separation at hinges.
