Description

RCA Type 44-BX Bi-Directional Velocity Microphone with Vintage Stand. Interior paper label reads Velocity Microphone, MI-4027-H, Type 44-BX, Radio Corporation of America, Camden, NJ. The BX was first introduced in 1938. MI-4027-H is a high fidelity microphone of the ribbon type specially designed for broadcast. This mic has a Voice or Music switch on the bottom. This microphone was probably produced in the 1950’s and is considered one of the best and most natural sounding ribbon microphones ever made. Mic Measures 8" High X 3" Wide X 2 7/8" Deep. NBC label appears to be held in place with adhesive tape. Comes with a very heavy duty stainless steel studio stand. Stand is mounted on a large steel disc. Provenance the remaining inventory of Antique Archaeology, closed Nashville, Tennessee location.

Condition: Condition – The microphone has not been tested and condition is unknown. The screen is in good condition and mic appears to be free of defects, but is "Sold As Is". The stand is in very good condition with some wear and dents to base.
