Description
Standing Stock Ticker with Wooden Case, 1930’s. The ticker was picked on "American Pickers" Season 24 Episode 11, "Little Shop of Wonders." This ticker is not marked. There was a note inside the machine which reads, "Max Wetzler 1897-1957; Worked with Edison To build stock ticker machine." The validity of this note is unknown. The former owner told Mike Wolfe that he bought it from Max Wetzler’s son. The son told the owner that his father worked with Edison to produce this machine. This could be a proto-type that was never produced. Our research could not find another example of this machine. The phone number on the note is Manhattan. Measures approximately 43" high X 12" square. Machine comes with a framed photograph of Max Wetzler. Frame: 13 1/4" X 16 1/4". Provenance the remaining inventory of Antique Archaeology, closed Nashville, Tennessee location.
Condition: Condition- Case has scratches, wear, stains, and some veneer lifting. The door to reload ticker tape does not have a key. The cord is missing. Unit was not tested. See photos.
