6 Volume Books About Books Full Leather Bound Set including Early Printed Books by E. Gordon Duff (219 pages), Book-Plates by W.J. Hardy (175 pages), The Great Book Collectors by Charles and Mary Elton (228 pages), The Binding of Books by Herbert P. Horne (224 pages), Early Illustrated Books by Alfred W. Pollard (256 pages), and Books in Manuscript by Falconer Madan (188 pages) published by Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co., Ltd. c. 1893. Bound in full brown calfskin with dentelle on front and back covers, inside front and back cover, and edges of front and back covers. Gold tooling and lettering on spine. Spines have raised bands with author name on red background and title on black background. Gilt top edge. Untrimmed fore edge and bottom edge. Marbled end sheets. Beautifully bound by Birdsall, Northampton & London (all volumes marked inside front cover). All volumes in English and measure approximately 8 1/4" x 5 3/8" x 1 1/8"
Condition: Condition – Near Fine – Bindings are clean and tight. Some covers have light scratches and stains. A couple of volumes have light foxing/toning to fly leaves. Light wear to corners and edges. Light wear to spines. Wear and minor loss to spine heads, tails and joints. Please see photos.
