1 Hardback Sun Lore of All Ages – A Collection of Myths and Legends Concerning the Sun and Its Worship by William Tyler Olcott. Published by G. P. Puttnam’s Sons New York and London The Knickerbocker Press c. 1914. Inscribed and signed by author inside front cover "To Mrs. Martha Evans Martin with kind regards from William Tyler Olcott, Norwich, Conn. Apr. 30th, 1914." Martha Evans Martin was a children’s literature author famous for her book "The Friendly Stars (1907)." Deep red cloth cover with gilt lettering on cover and spine and decorative photographic inlay of solar monument on front cover. Gilt top edge. 30 full page photographic illustrations and several drawings, 346 pages with publishers catalogue at back, in English. Book measures 9 1/4" x 6 1/2" x 1 3/4".
Condition: Condition – Near Fine – Binding tight. Wear to corners. Gilt lettering and photographic inlay on cover in very good condition with very light wear around edges of inlay. Wear to spine joints, head and tail. Spine faded. Some toning to margins throughout text block. Signature and inscription strong. Please see photos.
