Description
1 Hardcover Sintram and His Companions – A Northern Tale – A New Translation from the German of the Baron de la Motte Fouque published by James Burns London c. 1841. Considered a classic work of German Romanticism the story follows young Sintram as he grapples with dark forces. Beautiful Full Brown Calf Leather Binding. Elaborately decorated with gold tooling and lettering on spine and a classical urn central emblem and dentelle on front and back cover. Text black has gold edges on all three sides. 219 pages in English. Book measures 6 9/16" x 4 1/4" x 5/8"
Condition: Condition – Very Good – Binding tight. Front and back cover have wear. Back board is split at top of joint approximately 1" but intact. Spine has wear and loss to head and tail. Half of Title on spine is missing. Former owner name in ink on end paper. Toning to end papers and light foxing to first few pages. Please see photos.
