Lot includes 3 19th century cookbooks including Housekeeper’s Companion First Edition by Bessie E. Gunter c. 1889; Dr. Carlin’s Last Receipt Book and Household Physician by Old Doctor William Carlin c. 1888; and a rebound copy of Mrs. Porters New Worlds Fair Cookbook c. 1891. Combined lot measures approximately 8"x6"x5".
Condition: Housekeeper’s Companion (1st ed.) – fair condition – ‘missing front and back cover boards, likely missing pages at back (Index); soiled and worn; Dr. Carlin’s Last Receipt Book and Household Physician – cover loose but intact. Cover soiled and spotted with wear. Corners bumped and worn. Spine soiled and worn. First four pages loose with brittle edges; Mrs. Porter’s New Worlds Fair Cookbook – good condition – copy has been rebound. New cover is in good condition with light wear to corners. Missing first few pages including title page up to the contents page. Pages browned and missing some edges. Please see photos.
