Union Brevet Major General George J. Stannard (1820-1886) Vermont Brigade Cabinet Card with Signature. General George Stannard, Commander of the 9th Regiment stands in uniform. Shows he had lost right arm. Verso, “Continental Gallery, 100 Church Street, Over Ripley & Holton’s Hardware Store, Burlington, Vermont. Wormell, Artist.” Measures 4 1/4″ X 6 1/2″. The photograph is in an early 20th Century wooden frame with worn gilt. Condition- Has a bend in lower right, approximately 2″ long. Small bend in left lower corner. Some toning and fading to signature. See photos.
