Description
Panama-Pacific International Exposition Medallion. The exposition was a World’s Fair held in San Francisco, California, 1915. The fair celebrated the completion of the Panama Canal and showcased the city’s recovery from the 1906 earthquake. This type of medallion can be seen attached to the Arch of the Rising Sun and the Arch of the Setting Sun. Pictures of these are viewable on opensfhistory.org. Depicts a pair of mythological women and cornucopias. Measures 39 1/2" diameter X 2 1/2" thick. The surface of the back could be concrete. This heavy medallion should be picked up by the buyer or private courier service. Should not be shipped common carrier unless crated and attached to pallet. Provenance the remaining inventory of Antique Archaeology, closed Nashville, Tennessee location.
Condition: Condition- Overall good condition with some hairline cracks to surface. See photos.
