Description
Circa 1878 Edison Electric Pen. This piece was picked on "American Pickers" Season 14 Episode 3, "The Superfan." Only about 4,000 units were sold between 1876 and 1894. The original owner estimated there were probably 25-30 left in the world. However, he said that this was the only known European Edison variant and was probably sold in France. He also dated the pen 1878. By the late 1880’s the pen lost to its competition, including Edison’s mimeograph. Measures approximately 6 3/8" long. Provenance the remaining inventory of Antique Archaeology, closed Nashville, Tennessee location.
Condition: Condition- Overall good condition with some light oxidation to wire. The pen has been cleaned/polished at some point in the past. See photos.
