Description
Three 19th Century Antique Ivory Miniatures of George Washington and Martha Washington in Inlaid Frames and Marquis de Lafayette in Jeweled Frame. The George and Martha Washington paintings are signed "Gilbert" on the right side and are miniature copies of Gilbert Stuart’s 18th Century paintings. The frames have the original 18/19th C. Latin text paper backs. The frames measure 4 1/8" X 5". The Marquis de Lafayette miniature is in a glass jeweled frame with what appears to be a 18th Century Brocade fabric back. The painting is signed lower right with an attribution to the original artist of the image. The frame measures 3 1/8" X 4 3/4". Condition – The paintings are all in good condition. The Washington frames are in good condition. 95% of the original gold gilt is missing from the Lafayette frame, top of the frame has been bent to allow hanging from a wall, one red glass jewel is missing.
