Description
Southern Plantation Baby Bed Circa 1850. Rare Southern plantation spindled bed with canopy (canopy is not original). This bed was very possibly made in a southern plantation woodshop. The posts are tendon jointed, and the posts and spindles are hand carved (were not turned on a turning lathe). Measures 65 1/2" high X 47 3/8" wide X 30 1/4" deep. Provenance: Waverly Mansion Circa 1852, West Point, Mississippi Collection, Charlie and Dana Stephenson. Condition- Bed is in good condition. Canopy and canopy frame are not original. See photos.
