Description
RARE U.S. Army Oak and Brass Sterilizer Chest, Circa 1890. Quarter sawn oak with brass mounts and brass bale handles. Labeled by the manufacturer, "Truax Greene & Co. Chicago, U.S.A." Stenciled on top, "Regimental Chest Sterilizing Medical Dep’t U.S.A." Interior of lid has a paper inventory label affixed, "Contents of U.S. Army Sterilizer Chest." Comes with a tin Rochester Combination sterilizer (with directions listed on paper label). Chest measures 12" high X 15 3/4" wide X 26 1/4" long. Provenance the remaining inventory of Antique Archaeology, closed Nashville, Tennessee location.
Condition: Condition- Appears to be all original. Overall good condition. Lid has one age crack. Interior paper label has some losses and stains. Sterilizer has some surface rust. See photos.
