Description
Circa 1928 Tippco Santa Clause Driving Automobile. Made in Germany. One of the scarcest tin lithographed toys. This toy has Santa driving an open 1920’s clockwork driven automobile with whimsical graphics of toys and children. This car originally came with a feather Christmas tree on the trunk that could revolve with a battery powered action. Measures 4 3/4" high X 4 7/8" wide X 12 1/2" long. This unit has a Bertoia Auctions 11-2013 X-Mas Wishes inventory tag. Provenance the remaining inventory of Antique Archaeology, closed Nashville, Tennessee location.
Condition: Condition- Tree is not original. Toy has wear, some soiling, and corrosion. Battery mechanism for tree is missing wire and possibly the battery compartment cover. Clockwork does not work. See photos.
