Description
Gurney Refrigerator Co. Two-Part Ice Box Sideboard Circa 1881. Nickel plated tag reads, "Gurney Refrigerator Co. Fond du Lac, Wis. Patents No. 22-81. Dec. 13-81." Nice icebox with pressed carved decoration. The bottom has (2) two door compartments with porcelain lined cast iron water tank with spigot and original galvanized drip pan, (4) drawers, and bottom compartment with shelf. The top has a carved crown and beveled mirror. Stenciled on back, "The Only Cleanable Refrigerator Gurney Pat’d Nov. 22. 81. Dec. 13. 81 Fond Du Lac Wis. No. 191." Measures 80 1/4" high X 50 1/2" wide X 25 1/8" deep. ***THIS LOT IS NOT BEING SOLD FOR ANTIQUE ARCHEOLOGY***
Condition: Condition- Overall good condition with some scratches and stains, mostly to top. One bottom door has an improvised hook catch. The right bottom door is missing latch hardware. Mirror has some silver loss. Metal lining has wear but is in overall good condition. See photos.
