Description
Circa 1890 Old North Bridge 5 Cent Cigars Cloth Tobacco Sign. Manufactured By. F. R. Knowlton, West Acton, Massachusetts. Depicts the start of the American Revolutionary War at the Battle of Concord at what would later be known as the Old North Bridge, April 19, 1775. Featured a $100 reward, "For every ounce of tobacco found in the filler of ‘Old North Bridge’ Cigars other than pure imported Havana Tobacco." Marked in lower right corner, "The Globe Co. AKR." Measures overall 23 3/4" X 35". Provenance the remaining inventory of Antique Archaeology, closed Nashville, Tennessee location.
Condition: Condition- Overall soiling. The sign is very legible. See photos.
