Description
2 – 1st British Edition – English Collectors of Books and Manuscripts (1530-1930) by Seymour de Ricci published by The University Press Cambridge c. 1930 – one copy has original dust jacket in mylar cover. Other copy has ex-libris of Warren R. Dawson (1888-1968) an English librarian, insurance agent, Egyptologist and antiquarian. Includes a post card dated 1936 glued into the flyleaf thanking Dawson for information and signed by the author. Blue cloth cover with gilt lettering on spine. 1947 newspaper clipping detailing sale of Gutenberg Bible for 22K pounds pasted in back flyleaf. 203 pages in English. Measures 9" x 6" x 1".
Condition: Condition – Copy with Dust Jacket is Near Fine – dust jacket has wear at top and toning. Head and tail are lightly bumped. Toning and light soiling to edges. Some foxing in text block. Signed copy with no dust jack – Very Good – cover has some wear and is soiled. Corners bumped. Spine lightly faded. Head has a small area of loss. Toning to end papers. Former owner (Warren R. Dawson) ex-libris inside front cover. Ink notations from former owner on flyleaf. Post card signed by author pasted in flyleaf. Newspaper clipping pasted in back flyleaf. Edges soiled.
