Description
Rare James Marshall (1815 – 1853) Wishaw, Scotland, Rosewood Chinese Export Style Mother-Of-Pearl and Brass Inlay Bracket Clock C. 1850 with Matching Mother-Of-Pearl and Brass Inlay Base. Dial is signed, "James Marshall, " above, "WishawTown." The clock with original base is inlaid with Chinese characters, flowers, and foliage. Clock rests on four brass bun feet, has acorn finials, and floral crown finial. Eight day time and strike brass fusee movement. Clock measures 18 5/8" high x 10 1/2" wide x 6 1/2" deep. The base measures 2" high x 11 5/8" wide x 7 1/2" deep. Clock on base measures 20 3/8" high. Clock comes with original key and pendulum. Condition- Case is in good condition, inlay is in very good condition with some minor brass loss in base. Case has some old repairs with some age cracks. One piece of inlay is missing. (See photos). Brass feet and finials are possible replacements.
