Description
Empire Mahogany Secretary Desk Circa 1840. This beautiful piece has an applied eagle carving above doors with carved nest and eggs below on the upper portion of doors. The base has carved claw feet and an acanthus carved pilasters. The front of this piece is veneered in beautiful high quality crotch mahogany and has a fold out writing area with green suede leather insert and a recess area for pen and inkwell. Desk has three adjustable shelves in upper portion above two lockable drawers. Comes with key to lock upper and lower doors. Measures 88 1/2" high x 42 1/2" wide x 22" deep. Condition- This desk is in good condition for its age with some minor veneer losses. See photos.
